Bella & Chloe is a jewelry store based out of dallas but first got started online for most of their sales. They created a whole lifestyle brand focusing around vintage style pieces with a bohemian feel. Years ago I applied to work in their warehouse sorting jewelry. I didn't get the job but that's when I was introduced to their brand and was impressed with the team they put together to create a business that stood out from the competition.
My friend Jenny and I decided to go to Halloween party themed, 'tattoos, tarot, & tamales'. It seemed like the perfect party for me seeing as how I'm indifferent to all those things. But I loved the idea of witchy gypsy woman. So I incorporated that into Jenny and my look for the event.
When we arrived it seemed as though most everyone that was there either worked there, was a spouse of, or a model. The only costumes being worn were like the cutesy shirts that are like ... a lazy way of pretending you tried. Which is fine but it definitely felt like we were out of place.
I haven't been out on a weekend night in so long. Or just out in general. So my anxiety was at a level 8. Jenny had been wanting to get a tattoo so we went to that booth first. Party tats always seem legit. But everything that was at a decent price point she already had.
From there we headed to the photo booth, which I was really concerned cost money. No one was at the door directing anything so you know... I printed probably 20 sheets of pics.
I kept thinking as we re entered the party that... man everyone seemed older and young professional. Then I have to remind myself that I AM 28. Bella &a Chloe had an open bar for the party and I didn't partake. We went over to the dressing room to take more pictures and in the process may or may not have done something... that we shouldn't have. While leaning on this old chair it just... broke. Like leg slid out from under it. I immediately was like, "abort mission!".
Jenny didn't seem phased by the broken chair so we went outside and sat for a minute while I commented on the awkwardness of the party as more tall dallas blondes walked in. I only go to short brown haired parties so I can feel superior.
After checking out the party a little longer we walked down the street so I could get some better pics of Jenny's hair and makeup I did. She's always such a good sport and is always great to work with. Especially with her hair being an awesome pallette for color.
Overall it was a fun night despite anxiety. I loved doing the more fantasy hair and makeup on us both. We should have just came later in the night, when people had taken more advantage of the open bar.
